The doors have plates now
The curtain is no longer a gold label over a long text list. Each bank of the place — Right now, when it is loud, the longer path, what you are building — wears a small engraved mark, and every door is a plate you can read at a glance. On a phone the louder rooms sit as an atlas, not an infinite scroll. On a desk they open as a harbor. Body tools keep their own weather: cold for the Dive, a nested breath for the Sigh, a swell for the Wave, a word pulling out of noise for Name It. Run is a copper pill, not an underline. The same marks sit on People, Crossings, and the quieter lists, so a row is a place on the river rather than a line of type. Crisis is still in reach. The three jobs are still the three jobs. Heron is still an AI, and still says so. To add a door later, give it a key in plates.js — Plates.mark() and a plate if it needs weather — and put data-mark on the door. The shell will dress it.

Body first, then a person
Craving now opens on the body. Tap where it sits — hands shaking, chest tight, flat — and Heron, an AI, shapes the room: which surge, the pace, whether it stays quiet. Chat is after, if you want words. Two chairs split the pull’s pitch from the line you already know, and every close has a human door. Today can read personal weather from this device (“Fridays after 5 have been loud”) without a shame scoreboard. After a return, the debrief asks you to tell someone or plant a Grove stone. People drafts a sixty-second share, then pushes you toward a real meeting. Nights like payday or an empty Sunday are crafted as Crossings and cached for offline. One witness line — why you are still here — comes back in the loud hour. No streaks. Healing stays free. Heron still says it is AI, and still says call someone.

The three jobs come first
Today used to open on five body tiles. A craving, a mark, and a person sat below the fold. They sit first now. Crisis help — Call 988, Text 988, overdose, your person — is a quiet strip on every screen and on the homepage water. A link from the site into Craving now or Mark skips the three-step arrival. Hold to mark today stays above the tabs. If you named someone, People opens on Call and Text. On a desk, the left rail is a real column: the two numbers, the five jobs, the last tool that landed, and the same crisis lines.

Marrow asks you to name one person
Three things Marrow claims to do, and the third is get you to a real person quickly. That only works if it knows who your person is. It never asked. So unless you had gone looking for the People screen yourself, the bank was empty, and the line the small hours cue keeps for "the person you named for a night like this" had nobody to name. It asks once now, in daylight, after you have actually used Marrow for something, and it takes no for an answer for a fortnight. Never at two in the morning: that is when you need them, not when you should be typing a phone number. One name is enough, and it stays on this device.

The shape of a craving, while you are in one
Marrow draws the curve every craving follows: it climbs, it crests around ten minutes, it falls whether or not you feed it. During a ride there is a live one, with a clock and a marker showing where on that arc you actually are, which is the difference between being told it will pass and watching yourself pass through it. It was collapsed inside a disclosure labelled Body tools. It is always drawn now, under the way out rather than above it, because pushing "the pull is easing" off a phone screen to make room for a picture is the wrong trade at two in the morning. Body tools still means the tools.

When a tool does not work, it offers a different one
However the wave landed, the end of a surge gave you two choices: done, or run it again. If cold water on your face took you from a nine to an eight, more cold water is not the answer. It reads the number you just gave it now. If it barely moved, it offers something from the other half of the toolkit, and says which half and why: this one works on the thought instead of the body. If your record already shows one of those working for you, that is the one it offers. If it is still at eight or higher, it stops offering tools and points at a person, because that is the honest move. If it worked, it says nothing extra and lets you go. And it will only do this twice, so a hard night never turns into a carousel. A wave that rose while you sat with it gets named plainly, and never blamed on you.

It stopped asking how loud it is twice
Marrow only tells you a tool works for you after three runs where you said how loud it was before and after. That is the whole point of the record. But if you came from Craving now, you had just moved a slider to say exactly that, and the tool opened and asked again. The easy way out of being asked twice in ten seconds is "start without a number", and every one of those is a run that teaches Marrow nothing. It carries your number through now: "you said it was at 9 just now", and one button to start. If it has changed since, say so and the scale comes back. Everything else on that screen stays, including what the tool does to your body and when not to use it.

The rooms you cannot reach from a menu
A Grove room, a Rehearsal, an open program stage: none of them are one tap from the tab bar, so none of them had been measured. Sitting with someone's stone was the smallest control in the app, and it is the whole point of the room. The share-once starters and the Rehearsal's voice toggle were small too. All three are proper targets now. Sitting with a stone still looks like the quiet little pill it should be; only the part your thumb has to find got bigger.

Heron says it is Heron, and says it is AI
Heron had three different names depending on where you met it. In the Grove it was "heron". In a walkthrough it was an instruction with no name on it at all. And on the written screens — working a step, the night after a return, the evening water — it was "your guide", which is the one place it mattered most, because that is where it answers something you just wrote about yourself. None of them said it was AI. It has one byline now: the mark, the name, and a small AI tag, in that order, on every surface it speaks from. Screen readers get the longer version: AI, not a person.

Crisis help behaves like the dialog it says it is
The crisis sheet is never really hidden. Closed, it sits just off the bottom of the screen, which meant its eight buttons stayed in the keyboard tab order the whole time: you could tab off Today and land on Call 988 with nothing on screen explaining why. Open, it did the opposite, and let you tab straight out into the page behind it. It is a real modal now in both directions. Opening moves you into it and announces it. Escape closes it and puts you back on the control you came from. Steadying your body first still works from inside it, which we checked, because that is the one path that must never be caught by any of this.

The slider after the wave says something now
Before you ride it out, the scale talks back: nine reads "almost all of you". Afterwards, when you say where the craving landed, the same line under the number had been empty the whole time. It has its own words now, and they are not the first set again, because the question is different. A craving still at eight after you sat through it is the craving being slow, not you failing, and it says so. Nothing congratulates you for a low number. At ten it points at a person.

The crisis link works without a mouse
"In danger now? Reach a person." was written as a link with no address behind it. Browsers do not put those in the tab order and screen readers do not announce them as anything, so the most important control in Marrow could not be reached with a keyboard. It is a real button now, and so are the three other controls that had the same problem. Pressing it with the keyboard opens the crisis sheet, which we checked rather than assumed. Nothing looks different.

Your river is back on Today
Marrow keeps two numbers and refuses to keep a streak. The river is what that looks like drawn: every day you have marked is length, a return is a bend rather than a break, and it has never once started over. It had been sitting only in You, where you had to go looking for it. It is on Today now, underneath the three jobs and underneath anything the day is already asking of you, never above them. It says what it is: bent twice and kept going, still one river.

Put the walkthrough in your order
Reaching the end of a walkthrough used to hand you two half-filled text boxes. Now it hands you back the moves you just walked, and you set the order you would actually run them in. Some people have to leave the room before they can name anything. Some have to text one person before their hands work. That order is yours, and it comes back numbered, in your sequence, on Today and in Craving now. Tap to place, arrows to move, no dragging: a drag target is a bad bet on a phone at two in the morning.

Things you tap are big enough to tap
We drove every screen in a real browser at phone and desktop width and measured every control. Some had been small for a long time. "Talk with Heron" and "Steps and walks" on Today were eighteen pixels tall. Run, the only way into any of the seventeen short tools, was seventeen. Two crisis links were fifteen. All of them clear the standard now, and nothing moved on screen to do it: the underlines still sit under the words and the surge list is exactly as long as it was.

A plan you kept said "when when"
Every plan is phrased "when the pull comes", and the card that read them back added another "when" in front. So a rule you set while clear came back to you as "when when the pull comes". It had been doing that for a while. Fixed for the plans already saved, not just new ones.

A few things now make a sound
Only if Atmosphere is already on, and only once, for a moment that earned it: a soft tone when a sponsor's reflection lands after you have held an answer on a step, a lower one when a step closes, and one when a walkthrough or a Deep Walk gets you to the far side. Nothing plays before you turn the sound on yourself, and none of it is louder than the room it happens in.

Six Grove rooms became three
Spring, Current, and Deep sat mostly empty on their own, so they are one room now: the Grove, open to anyone at any stretch. The Watch folded into Night Watch, which already held a hard hour with company. Coming Back stayed on its own, because after a return needs a door of its own, not a lecture from a mixed room. No stone was lost in the move.

The quote came down
It read like someone in recovery said it. Nobody did. We wrote it, so it is off the homepage. The peer lines in Craving now and in the walks stay, and they carry a label now: written for Marrow, not collected. The Grove already labelled its sample voices.

The named practices
Motivational interviewing in spirit, harm reduction first, relapse-aware pacing. The Trust page now says what each one looks like on screen and where it stops. It names the model behind Heron, Claude through Netlify, and says who decides everything else. No clinician has read any of it yet. That is on the page too.

The other products left the header
Surge, Sanctuary, Vigil and Drift are out of Marrow's menu and map. Surge is licensed to providers, so a person in recovery could tap it and hit a wall. The studio link stays in the footer, which is attribution, not a door.

They are walks, in the app and on the site. The route is v=walks now, and the old link still lands. The short guides are walkthroughs, which is what the back button already called them. One ground colour across the site, the app, the icons and both manifests. Three values had drifted apart.

The three push functions sat deployed for a month with no schedule attached, so nothing has ever been sent. The schedule is attached now, and the send is switched off behind a flag. The decision lives in the repo where it can be read, instead of in a dashboard where it cannot.
